Rob Labelle started out in his chosen profession while studying as school in New York, alongside Chris Brancato and other members of the First Wave crew. He gained a masters degree in Fine Arts as well as learning his craft both as an actor and director. After numerous stage roles, he began working in film and television, amassing a considerable resume of work. During First Wave's three season run he headed behind the camera for season two episode Underworld and season three episode Legacy. His enthusiasm for his work is surpassed only by that for his wife and young son.

The energy and vitality Rob brings to all his roles is a joy to watch. Whether on screen for hours or brief seconds he can't help but catch the eye. He has a genuine passion for his job which is blatantly evident, and this is one of the key qualities that made First Wave so appealing. I did, however, whilst channel hopping one evening happen across Rob in a somewhat different role...that of a half-naked, rich, Belgium (I think) John, hiring the hooker star of a TV movie. Never did find out what the movie was called, but it certainly was an eye-opener...I'll never look at Crazy Eddie the same way again!
